I have a goal to read 10 books in 2025.

I’m always reading something - not always fast, but I try to keep a book in my hand in either soft copy, hard copy, kindle, or audio (I count podcasts as “reading” - just me? guess it depends on the podcast).

So far I’ve read 2 books - one liesure/fiction book, the second a retirement book surrounding “guaranteed income for life” - I may have some years to go for retirement but social security is looking really skeptical once I finally arrive. I have several areas I want to grow so I like to keep my next read in a different “sector” if you will.

The few I have cracked open currently:

1) The Tiny but Mighty Farm by Jill Ragan

This book outlines some great planning techniques for everything from small home gardens to a full income producing farm with a focus on community and self-sufficiency. With a future homestead on my horizon and my love of gardening I want to gather some tangible, tested ways to optimize my farm even if an acre is all I have.

2) Authentic Happiness by Martin E. P. Seligman, Ph.D.

This book (so far) is all about the study of happiness and provides some scientific backed evidence on why the people that are happy, are happy - authentically. I’ve felt a call to be a more “authentic” version of myself lately so this intrigued my science brain.

I also just purchased two more new books to add to the never ending collection of “one day” reads - found at the lovely Hubcity Bookshop - complete with bookstore kitty and delicious locally roasted coffee from Little River Coffee Bar.

Stay tuned for more & remember to always be growing!
